Ingredients

1 1/3 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup of semisweet chocolate chips

2 large eggs

1/3 cup milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup Becel Margarine with Avocado Oil, or other soft non-hydrogenated margarine

3/4 cup ripe avocado (approximately two small)

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2

In a large bowl mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt and chocolate chips until well combined.

Step 3

In a second large bowl using a hand blender beat together margarine, sugars, vanilla, eggs and avocado.

Step 4

Add avocado mixture to dry ingredients mix until combined.

Step 5

For a thicker cake-style brownie, pour batter into a greased 8 inch x 8 inch baking pan or for traditional-style brownie use a 9 inch x 13 inch baking pan.

Step 6

If using an 8×8 pan bake at 350 for approximately 40 minutes or 30 minutes for the larger pan. To test doneness, when a toothpick interested into the centre of the pan comes out clean the brownies are fully baked. Cool on a wire rack, cut into squares and enjoy!
